2025 is the 6th Season of The Boomer Woman’s Podcast. Each episode is a conversation between me – I’m Agnes Knowles, your host – and a guest who talks to a subject that, someway, somehow, is relatable to Boomer Women. The guests can be any age, any gender, as long as their message is positive, informative, pertinent to our demographic. You, dear listener, might need to be open-minded, curious, tolerant, inclusive… and if you are, you will enjoy these conversations, maybe learn something, and I encourage you to share each and any episode! Haha, I look at that title and think - just another conversation between Agnes and Mar Sulaika.
We are all adapting right now to COVID, government rules and responses, and how life has changed. Two Boomer Women manage to find Shakespeare and Greek philosophy in the midst of all that!
The Canadian government has implemented many rules and requests, and also many contingency plans. We appreciate being at an age where the financial impact is not the same as for a young person or a family.
Continued good health!!

COVID-19: Some Facts, Some Reality, Lots of Boomer Opinion
Monday Mar 23, 2020
Monday Mar 23, 2020
Agnes' COVID reality is the presence of her grandsons in her office. The two-yr-old was great because he got screen time with Baby Bum... you'll hear the soundtrack throughout. Apologies as it was impossible to edit out. Apologies also if you find yourself singing "The Wheels On the Bus" for the rest of the day.
Conversation included Mar Sulaika's sister - it may sound hard-hearted but they share a lifetime of history... you'll learn more as time goes on.
As our conversations are wont to do, COVID convo was an obvious lead-in to "Night of The Iguana" and "Sleepless in Seattle"!
Wishing you facts and calm as this "thing" unfolds.

Do we need to issue and language alert? In between conversations about pigeon problems / solutions and men (from good-looking to warriors, how's that for range!) we got into a discussion about children and "bad words" so if you're sensitive to 4-letter words, be prepared.
Mar Sulaika wrote an interesting article about one of her out-and-about observations (pre-COVID) so Agnes decided to add a page to her website. If you've ever considered a blog, it might be interesting to you.
The discussion around warrior men morphed to Netflix and Barbara Corcoran. Agnes' updates on getting this podcast up and running morphed into Apple and apples.
Two editorial corrections:
- David Suzuki was nude, except for a fig leaf
- Barbara Corcoran was on Shark Tank, not Dragon's Den

Story-telling and Gilda Radner to Knee Injuries and Professional Women
Monday Mar 16, 2020
Monday Mar 16, 2020
The transition from our discussion about story-telling morphed quite easily into a chat about the wonderful Gilda Radner. As happens from time to time, our own aches and pains entered theconversation: Agnes' comments on her knee injury led to an interesting discussion of knee braces and Mar Sulaika's dental comments ended up in a discussion about dental schools and professional women.
Please remember that when we discuss anything medical, we speak anecdotally, with no medical training. If Agnes's knee injury sounds like yours, you still need to refer to your own medical specialists for advice on your specific issue.
When the subject of men enters our discussion today, please do not take the comments as derisive. As you get to know us, you'll realize that we do like men, we do also have some opinions that we voice. No offense is meant to our friends, the men.

A longer episode today - with the profile of COVID-19 we had to contribute. We're both over 60 and Mar Sulaika has a mom in care. We get into the use of technology during this time, of course Agnes is pro and Mar Sulaika maintains her Renaissance mindset, but it's still a + in the conversation column. Part of the tech discussion was the subject of loneliness which led to toilet paper and to taking care of your neighbours. We have no shortage of subjects to link together!

Language and Grammar moves on to Drinking and Dust Bunnies
Monday Mar 09, 2020
Monday Mar 09, 2020
Classic Agnes and Mar Sulaika here: how festive dinners morphs into language and grammar, order vs chaos, Mardi Gras, drinking and of course the natural progression of conversation ends up with dust bunnies!
Get yourself a glass of wine even though our chat was too early to handle wine of our own!
Agnes mentions a meditation app: it's Breethe at the app store.

Ducks to Politics to Birthing a Business Idea
Friday Mar 06, 2020
Friday Mar 06, 2020
You'll soon learn that our conversations can travel all over the map (and today, literally). Discussion about birds in distress and ducks nesting somehow led us to Mar Sulaika's journalism days in Cyprus. While we don't have a link to Peter's pictures yet, the link to Mar Sulaika's website is below.
Agnes loves to mull over / brainstorm business ideas for people and Mar Sulaika was the obvious victim today. After several years online, it was easy to throw some ideas out for consideration and Mar Sulaika, bless her, was all ears as anything tech is not in her bailiwick.

Two Boomer Women Booming Through These Times
Monday Mar 02, 2020
Monday Mar 02, 2020
Agnes and Mar Sulaika met by accident in the world of ElderCare-giving. Their so-different histories created a friendship and their firm belief in the lost art of conversation created a bond.
Now they join forces to pursue their talents and strengths, individually and jointly. No topic is immune to their discussion. Pour yourself a glass of wine, come eavesdrop, and join the conversation at https://twoboomerwomen.com/join-the-conversation/ whenever you wish.
